TM2500 DLE is also more sustainable: it produces lower nitric oxide (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter (PM) emissions compared to the previous GE Vernova’s mobile solutions

ATLANTA, GA (March 31, 2025) – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) today announced its next generation of mobile aeroderivative gas turbines, “power plants on wheels” delivering

reliable and efficient power anywhere, whether on or off the grid. The new TM2500* Dry Low Emissions (DLE) is GE Vernova’s waterless, mobile 34MW power plant that offers higher-efficiency performance, up to 39 percent efficiency, with reduced NOx emissions and waste.

The mobile power solutions trend is being driven by a variety of factors. The global energy access gap worsens as population growth outpaces new connections: 76 million people are living without electricity access. The vast majority of that growth will happen in areas where the power grid is either very weak or does not exist at all. Another major driver is the need for emergency power for utilities, municipalities, datacenters and other industries. These industries rely on a stable power supply to grow and evolve. Finally, in an increasing number of countries, utilities are investing in rapid, highly mobile technology that can quickly bridge the power gap during blackouts, energy shortages or even natural disasters.

“The development of a decentralized energy network, where electricity is generated close to, or at, the point of use, also drives efficiency by reducing or eliminating energy losses from transmission and distribution, thus delivering both economic and environmental benefits.

With this new solution we are committed to offering customers across the world greater fuel and operational flexibility, coupled with increased sustainability,” said Відкрити у новому вікніClive Nickolay, CEO of GE Vernova’s Gas Power Aeroderivative business line. “The TM2500 DLE offers the same reliability of earlier models, but it is the first to operate without water and without any aftertreatment in emissions, as it produces lower nitric oxide (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter (PM) emissions –compared to the previous mobile solutions and almost no methane slip.

The modular TM2500 DLE’s is more compact and easier to ship. It is on a two-trailer frame that offers on-site flexibility and boasts a 30-day lead time from contract to commissioning. Once installed, the TM2500 DLE has a five-minute fast start cycle, ideal for rapid response to sudden changes in power demand or grid stability. The unit’s mobility and speedy start up cycle allow the unit to meet a variety of needs in multiple locations – well-suited to grid-firming, construction, or the sudden shifting demands of emergency and natural disaster response.

GE Vernova’s TM2500 DLE builds on the proven reliability of earlier generations of mobile gas turbines which have been proving their versatility and reliability for 140 million accumulated hours of operation. The unit is fuel flexible, running on gas, liquid fuel, or hydrogen blend, to help operators to generate reliable power, despite possible fuel supply challenges or fluctuating costs.

Additional power expected to serve Springfield’s electric load to mitigate unexpected disruptions

ATLANTA, GA (March 28, 2025) – GE Vernova Inc. (NYSE: GEV) today announced that it secured an order from the municipal utility of Springfield City Utilities, Missouri (CU) for three units of its innovative LM6000VELOX* aeroderivative gas turbine packages aiming to expand electric generation capacity at CU’s 100 Megawatt (MW) McCartney Generating Station, located in Springfield, Greene County, Missouri.

Increasing electricity demand, aging power generation units, and extreme weather events have led to increases in the amount of CU’s required for power generation capacity, known as a Planning Reserve Margin (PRM). A PRM is the power capacity required beyond projected demand to ensure reliability during peak usage or unexpected outages. By 2026, CU will be required to maintain a PRM of 36% during winter months, a significant increase from the current 15%. This means CU must have 36% more power generation capacity than what is required to serve Springfield’s electric load to help mitigate unexpected disruptions.

The three GE Vernova aeroderivative units are expected to inject an additional 150 MW of reliable and flexible capacity with the new aeroderivative gas turbine packages to help ensure grid stability with high efficiency. Once online, the aeroderivative gas turbines are expected to become CU’s most efficient generators with the capability to burn two types of fuel (natural gas with a fuel oil/diesel as a backup) in case of emergency events. The plant is estimated to start operations in 2027.

“This investment is another step in ensuring Springfield’s energy reliability for the future,” said Warren Brooks, V.P. of Electric Operations at City Utilities. “We trust GE Vernova’s units will help us quickly meet demand during peak energy usage. This project is aligned to our broader strategy to address future power supply needs through affordable, reliable, and innovative solutions.”

GE Vernova’s LM6000VELOX packages are developed using proven LM6000* aeroderivative gas turbine technology which is well-known in the power generation industry for its quick start time and ramp-up to full power in as little as 5 minutes, high cycle life helping to complement intermittent power from renewable sources, and operational flexibility.

The LM6000VELOX package was developed to reduce the installation and commissioning schedule of LM6000* aeroderivative gas turbines by up to 40% and save up to 4,000 labor hours.

“With increasing power generation demand driven by growing electrification needs and more renewables coming online every day, operators and municipalities, like City Utilities, need to ensure grid reliability with high efficiency, while delivering cheaper and faster power for their end users” said Dave Ross , CEO of GE Vernova’s Gas Power Americas region. “We are excited to work with City Utilities to contribute to the expansion of their McCartney Power Generation Station with our highly efficient, reliable, fast and flexible technology.”

LM6000 gas turbines are part of an installed base of nearly 1.200 units across approximately 60 countries. In a Singular Annular Combustor (SAC) configuration, these units have the capability to burn up to 100% hydrogen by volume, thereby reducing CO2 emissions from power delivered by a gas turbine.

The energy system of any country is a complex mechanism in which each element is critical. In Ukraine, this system is currently under particular strain, and any malfunction or damage could have serious consequences: power outages, industrial shutdowns, restrictions on the operation of social institutions, and a negative impact on the economy as a whole. That is why the speed of response in the energy sector is often a determining factor in stability and security.

When a critical element of an energy infrastructure facility fails — a transformer, switch, disconnector, or cable line — it is important not only to replace it, but to do so as quickly as possible. Delays in equipment delivery can lead to prolonged outages, reduced system reliability, and increased emergency repair costs. This is where the ability to deliver equipment and materials quickly comes to the fore, minimizing downtime.

General Energy has built its business with these challenges in mind. We keep a stock of high-voltage equipment in our warehouses in Ukraine that meets modern technical standards and is ready for shipment on the day of order. This allows us to minimize the time between the customer's request and the actual installation of the equipment.

However, our advantage is not limited to the availability of stocks in the country. We have a reliable network of partners in Europe, thanks to which we can deliver equipment from EU warehouses within two weeks. Such speed is extremely important in cases where rare or non-standard equipment is required that is not freely available on the domestic market.

Fast delivery is not only convenient, but also a guarantee of safety. A stable power system means fewer risks of emergencies, less chance of large-scale outages, and a steady power supply for consumers, even in tough conditions. Plus, getting infrastructure back up and running quickly helps reduce financial losses for businesses and keeps production going.

We also pay special attention to consulting support. Our specialists help you choose the optimal solution for specific technical requirements, allowing you not to waste precious time searching for equipment that meets standards and operating conditions. This is especially important in situations where any mistake in selection can cause additional delays.

General Energy is a team that understands the importance of time in the energy sector. We work to ensure that each of our customers can be confident that the necessary equipment will be delivered on time and that the process of restoring the power grid will begin without unnecessary delays. Speed is not just our competitive advantage, but the foundation of our mission to maintain the stability of Ukraine's energy system.

The energy sector is undergoing a period of active transformation. Increased loads on power grids, the need to improve their stability and security, and the challenges of climate change are forcing us to seek new technological solutions. High-voltage equipment, a key element of this infrastructure, is also evolving, becoming more efficient, reliable, and better adapted to modern conditions.

One of the main trends today is the introduction of energy-efficient technologies. New transformers with improved insulation and optimized design reduce electricity losses, increasing the efficiency of the networks. In addition, manufacturers are increasingly using materials with improved dielectric properties, which increases the reliability of equipment even in difficult climatic conditions.

Another important area is the digitalization of energy. Modern high-voltage equipment is often equipped with sensors that transmit data in real time, allowing for system status monitoring, prediction of possible malfunctions, and prevention of accidents. This approach significantly reduces repair costs and increases the continuity of power supply.

General Energy actively implements these innovations in its work. We cooperate with leading global manufacturers who implement the latest developments in their products, from energy-efficient transformers and vacuum circuit breakers to intelligent substation control systems. Thanks to this, our customers receive not only high-quality equipment, but also solutions that meet modern requirements for safety, energy efficiency, and reliability.

We pay special attention to the rapid implementation of new technologies in practice. If an innovative solution appears on the market that can improve the operation of power grids, we immediately analyze its technical characteristics, test it, and, if possible, include it in our product range. This allows General Energy's customers to be among the first to gain access to the latest technologies.

In this way, we combine prompt delivery with advanced technologies, creating conditions under which our partners' energy infrastructure becomes more stable, efficient, and ready for the challenges of the future.

General Energy is not just a supplier of equipment, but a leader in modern technologies for the energy sector in Ukraine. We help our customers not only to restore, but also to modernize their power systems, making them stronger, more reliable, and more efficient.
